The Tide (Arrow and Brown Bear) occurrences are located at an elevation of approximately 960 metres on an east facing slope, approximately 1.0 kilometre west of the Bowser River.

The area is underlain by ash tuffs with lesser dust and lapilli tuffs and interbedded augite porphyry of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation, Hazelton Group. A north trending extension of Lower Jurassic Summit Lake Stock hornblende granodiorite intrudes the volcanics. This intrusive lobe is from 300 to 500 metres wide, and seperates andesitic volcanics to the west from dacitic volcanics to the east (Open File 1987-22).

On surface the Arrow zone consists of massive sulphide-bearing boulders comprising massive pyrrhotite-sphalerite+/-pyrite in sericitized porphyry. The Arrow zone boulders occur along a 1600-metre long recessive feature that may represent a controlling structure.

In 2004, Serengeti drilled one hole to test east-west trending veins and shear structures on the Arrow zone. The drill hole collared into light grey, aphanitic to fine-grained, massive to locally bedded andesitic ash tuffs. At a depth of 51 metre, the drill hole intersected the main intrusive body which is dominated by strongly chlorite and sericite altered feldspar +/- quartz porphyry and lesser medium- to coarse-grained hornblende +/- biotite granodiorite. All contacts within the intrusive were gradational. Weak to moderate silicification and Fe-carbonate alteration were pervasive throughout the entire drill hole. Significant mineralization was limited to three narrow (<1 metre) intervals with centimetre-scale sulphide veins. Pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite are the most common sulphide minerals with rare arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite present in trace amounts.

In 2004, prospecting up the north fork, of Silver Creek revealed a 20-metre wide zone with significant quartz veining, shearing, and sulphide mineralization that was subsequently dubbed the Brown Bear zone. Veins consist of sulphide-poor bull quartz and show strike continuity up to 30 plus metres along which they pinch and swell from 5 to about 50 centimetres in width. The veins are steeply dipping and trend roughly east-west. The zones in between and peripheral to the quartz veins are intensely sheared and contain significant sulphide mineralization. Mineralization consists mostly of pyrrhotite+/-pyrite-arsenopyrite-sphalerite-galena and trace chalcopyrite. The zones in between and peripheral to the quartz veins are intensely sheared (also E-W trending) and contain significant sulphide mineralization. Mineralization consists mostly of pyrrhotite+/- pyrite-arsenopyrite-sphalerite-galena and trace chalcopyrite. There is no recognizable metal zonation around the quartz veins. This new mineralization is similar to mineralization within the Arrow Zone and is likely a westward continuation of the Arrow Zone, although the zones do not line up exactly along strike.

The Brown Bear and Arrow, along with the High Grade Pit and Red occurs in the Summit Sill soil anomaly (a 2000 x 600 metre gold-in-soil anomaly exceeding 90 ppb that is cored by a zone of anomalous copper, molybdenum, and silver values).

In 2001, a chip sample (51082) from the Arrow zone yielded 99.0 grams per tonne gold, 152 grams per tonne silver, 1.32 per cent lead and 0.790 per cent zinc over 0.30 metre, while float samples yielded up to 1105 grams per tonne gold, 598 grams per tonne silver, 0.294 per cent copper, 5.30 per cent lead and 20.30 per cent zinc (Heffernan, R.S. In 2004, grab samples from the Arrow zone yielded up to 18.4 grams per tonne gold, 541 grams per tonne silver, 0.188 per cent copper, 8.89 per cent lead and 3.85 per cent zinc, while samples from the Brown Bear zone yielded up to 6.34 grams per tonne gold, 424 grams per tonne silver and 0.816 per cent lead over 0.20 metre (Heffernan, R.S. Also at this time, drilling on the Arrow zone yielded intersections yielding up to 1.74 grams per tonne gold, 82.0 grams per tonne silver, 0.08 per cent copper, 0.23 per cent lead, 0.3 per cent zinc over 0.91 metres in hole TIDE04-04 (Press Release, Serengeti Resources Inc., September 3, 2004).

Work History

Rimfire Minerals Corporation purchased the Tide property in August 2001 from Newmont Canada Limited, which had aquired the property from Hemlo Gold via merger, and carried out mapping, prospecting and silt and rock sampling in that year. Rimfire's work focused on the core area of the property assessing previously reported zones of mineralization and resulted in the discovery of narrow high-grade Au-Ag mineralization in the Arrow zone.

Serengeti Resources Inc. optioned the Tide property in November 2003 and subsequently carried out mapping, prospecting, soil sampling and 589 metres of diamond drilling during the summer of 2004. Equity Engineering Ltd. was contracted to execute the 2001 and 2004 exploration programs. In 2005, Serengeti Resources Inc completed an airborne EM and magnetic survey (315 km), geological and geochemical work, and drilled eight holes on the Tide property totaling 967 metres, including four on the 36 zone and four on 52 zone.
